ADAM Pre-Fall 2011 wallpaper

2011 ADAM Pre-Fall
J. Mendel is the king of all things red-carpet and glam and his Pre-Fall 2011 gives us just that with menswear-inspired pieces, fur and fabulous gowns.

He is an expert at his craft and each look is perfectly-tailored, even with layer upon layer of fur. Mendel gives those who can afford it complete ensembles from cozy coats to the great dresses underneath. A variety of fur silhouettes are presented including chubby cropped vests and long open versions belted at the waist, as well as a short-sleeve shaggy fur coat with pockets, all the better for keeping your hands warm.

Mendel’s gowns are always the highlights of every collection and there is something for every woman here whether she likes thigh-grazing and flirty or draped to perfection with a peek of skin. The palette for the collection is completely neutral, with a deep pumpkin strapless dress showing the only pop of color. Still fall-perfect of course.

winter fashion style photos

winter fashion style
Animal prints, tribal prints, feathers & fur were all major staples for designers this winter. They took forms of hair accessories, gloves, scarves, bags, shoes & of work, clothing. I like the excitement of patterns, the ‘global’ feel & the uniqueness an exotic element brings to one’s clothing.

The fella blazer trend of 2007 is back with a vengeance, but with more femininity. The cut is more streamline, tailored & the lengths are shorter. The blazers have gotten bolder moving away from gray & black to brighter colors, textures & patterns. Those who assumed blazers were out, eat your words!
Extravagant embellishments such as lace, brocade, sequins, velvet & others were rampant on the runways for winter. These luxe details made darker colors & muted designs sparkle. Velvet ribbons, glitter sequins, lace detailing were seen on blouses, pants, shoes, bags, scarves, hoods, jackets & more.

Boutique Bliss
Gen Art’s Shop Miami 2008

The Miami Design District was hopping on a hot summer night as Miami’s most fashionable came to the Moore Building for three stories of boutique bliss. The Miami fashion event: Gen Art’s Shop Miami 2008.

Gen Art is a national arts and entertainment organization that showcases emerging talent in fashion, film, music and the visual arts. The acclaimed group partnered with Citi Private Pass to present the New York City–style sample sale for those fabulous Miami fashionistas in search of progressive styles at slashed prices.

More than 40 local designers and boutiques set up shop throughout three of the Moore Building’s four levels. The jammed packed shopping spree featured cocktails, beauty services, and a runway show highlighting the participating Miami boutiques.

The industrial nature of the Moore Building’s interior architecture, which features a vast open center that allows for everyone to see and be seen from every level, created a visual and auditory experience that can only be described as buzzy. The beats from DJ Induce traveled from floor to floor and blended melodically with the din of the mostly female crowd. Shoppers watched the fashion show from multiple levels, hanging over the metal railings on floors two and three. The elevated vantage points provided for bird’s eye views of the fashion spectacle below.

Naerik Jewelry Designs had fantastic rings with semi-precious stones, while Tricia Fix featured her feminine and sexy line. Cocoa Couture was very impressive, as well, with their fun and casual dresses and tops.

The huge influx of people gave the entire Miami Design District a vibrant energy that reverberated from the Moore Building and echoed throughout the neighborhood. Fratelli Lyon, located in the Driade furniture store and overlooking NE 2nd Avenue, had a sophisticated looking crowd that one may expect to see in New York or Chicago. Domo Japones, the chic Japanese restaurant located in what once was an abandoned post office, was also filled to the brim.

Clearly, Shop Miami 2008 was a success and the Moore Building and Miami Design District were the perfect hosts. Who says Miami dies during the summer? Stay tuned for Fashion Week Swim, Zo’s Summer Groove and so much more as the Miami summer scene continues to heat up.
